Hamsa
The Hamsa, a silver hand, is a common Middle Eastern luck charm that is often found in Jewish jewelry. The Hamsa is traditionally used in amulets, charms and jewelry to protect against the "evil eye". Another name for the Hamsa in Jewish culture is the Hand of Miriam, referring to the sister of Moses. Since the Hamsa is also used in Arab culture, the Hamsa is sometimes used as a common peace symbol.
